We’re Hiring – Education Program Manager

Own It: Building Black Wealth is hiring an Education Program Manager to lead our financial education and homeownership support programs. This is a salaried role offering approximately 30 hours per week, with a flexible schedule and hybrid work environment, requiring some in-person work in the greater Madison, WI area. It’s a high-impact opportunity for someone who’s organized, proactive, and passionate about expanding access to homeownership in Black and brown communities.

About Own It

Own It is a Madison-based initiative focused on increasing generational wealth through homeownership. We partner with local organizations, including One City Schools, Centro of Dane County, and Anesis Therapy, to offer:

  • A free wealth building and homeownership education program
  • $19,000 down payment grants (no repayment required)
  • Ongoing support and mentorship

What You’ll Do

As Education Program Manager (EPM), you’ll oversee the full lifecycle of our education programming and grant application process. You’ll ensure smooth operations, maintain accessible and responsive systems, and build strong relationships with participants and partners.

  • Coordinate two annual education cohorts
  • Manage logistics for virtual and in-person events
  • Facilitate mentorship matches and post-closing workshops
  • Track participant progress and generate reports
  • Maintain the learning platform and program documentation
  • Support outreach and partner engagement
  • Contribute to program evaluation and improvements
  • Manage and support the grant application process and closings

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and confident in managing multiple priorities. You should be comfortable communicating with diverse stakeholders and energized by helping others navigate complex systems with clarity and care. Experience in program coordination, community engagement, real estate or nonprofit work is helpful—but what matters most is your initiative, adaptability, and commitment to equity.

What We Offer

  • Compensation is commensurate with experience. We anticipate paying $60,000/year. Unfortunately, no health benefits are offered.
