June is National Homeownership Month.
For many families in Dane County, that is not a celebration. It is a reminder of a door that has not opened yet.
Own It exists to change that. We provide homebuyer education, one-on-one mentorship, and down payment grants to families working toward homeownership in Dane County. The racial homeownership gap in Dane County and Wisconsin is one of the largest in the country. We are working to close it, one family at a time.
This June, we have one goal: raise $19,000 to fully fund one down payment grant for one family.
This is not about statistics. This is for one family that is ready to buy and needs this grant to get across the finish line.
